CVE-2026-27204Network attack vector

Host crashes via unbounded WASI resource allocations

Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026

Resource exhaustion in affected Wasmtime versions allows attackers who can run a guest to crash or degrade its host through WASI calls. WASIp1, WASIp2, and Component Model host interfaces accept guest-controlled handle counts, buffer sizes, and data copies without effective resource limits. Exposure requires execution of an attacker-controlled guest; repeated handle allocation or oversized host operations can exhaust memory, panic, abort, or severely reduce host performance.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
