Account takeover via inactive SAML identity reassignment
Published Feb 21, 2026 · Updated Feb 21, 2026
Improper authentication in Sentry 21.12.0 through 26.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts through malicious SAML SSO. The SSO login pipeline reassigns an inactive user's existing AuthIdentity instead of routing it through email, membership, and confirmation checks. Exploitation requires the victim's email address, another organization on the same instance, and control of that organization's SSO settings; successful login grants the victim's account access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
