Privilege escalation via unsanitized HTML field rendering
Published Feb 21, 2026 · Updated Feb 21, 2026
Stored XSS in Statamic CMS before 5.73.9 and 6.0.0-alpha.1 through 6.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript. HtmlFieldtype.vue passed the configured html value directly to Vue's v-html directive without sanitization, causing a viewer's browser to interpret injected markup and scripts. Field-management permission is required to store the payload, and execution requires a higher-privileged user to view the affected HTML field in the control panel, allowing privilege escalation through that user's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
