CVE-2026-27139Public exploit

Filesystem metadata disclosure via directory-listing race

Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026

Path traversal in Go os before 1.25.8 and 1.26.0-0 through 1.26.0 allows local users to read arbitrary filesystem metadata on Unix. File.ReadDir and File.Readdir obtain directory entries before FileInfo resolution calls lstat through a path that can be replaced, creating a TOCTOU race that escapes Root. Local filesystem access is required to replace the listed directory with a symlink during the race; exposure is limited to file existence, size, and other lstat metadata, without out-of-root content reads or writes.
