Cross-site scripting via unvalidated SSR tag names
Published Feb 20, 2026 · Updated Feb 20, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Svelte before 5.51.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML through dynamic SSR element tag names. The server renderer emits the this={tag} value from svelte:element as an HTML tag name without validation or sanitization. Exploitation requires an SSR application to pass attacker-controlled tag data into that construct; client-side rendering is unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
