Stored XSS via unescaped offline description
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Jenkins 2.483 through 2.550 and LTS 2.492.1 through 2.541.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute browser scripts. OfflineCause.UserCause.getMessage returns the user-provided “Mark temporarily offline” description as trusted HTML without escaping it before the node page renders it. Agent/Configure or Agent/Disconnect permission is required to store the payload, and another user must view the affected page for script execution in that user's browser.
