Stored XSS via unsanitized custom-field substitution
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Aakash Web Shortcoder 6.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts into WordPress pages. The custom-field substitution path inserts an unsanitized custom field value into shortcode content, which WordPress then renders as page HTML. Contributor-level access is required to plant the payload, and the script runs in a visitor's browser when the affected shortcode is rendered.
