Authenticated stored XSS via unsanitized REST entries
Published Mar 11, 2026 · Updated Mar 11, 2026
Stored XSS in BoldGrid weForms 1.6.27 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through REST form entries. REST submissions pass a WP_REST_Request to prepare_entry(), bypassing weforms_clean(), while the default field path trims rather than sanitizes hidden values. Subscriber access and a hidden field are required; the script runs in an administrator's browser when the entries view renders it as HTML.
