CVE-2026-2694Network attack vector

Authenticated event modification and deletion via capability bypass

Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Improper authorization in The Events Calendar 6.15.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify or trash event data via REST API. The can_edit and can_delete callbacks authorize REST requests without correctly enforcing the target event, organizer, or venue capabilities. Contributor-level access is sufficient to update or trash events, organizers, and venues, affecting stored content integrity and availability.
