Authenticated service crash via Timelion input manipulation
Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Elastic Kibana 8.0.0 through 8.19.10 and 9.0.0 through 9.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash Kibana. Elastic identifies input-data manipulation in the Timelion component but has not published the resource-consuming operation or crafted input that triggers it. An authenticated user must reach Timelion, a legacy visualization feature enabled by default, and successful exploitation interrupts Kibana availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
