Stored XSS via unescaped progress-bar settings
Published Mar 12, 2026 · Updated Mar 12, 2026
Stored XSS in Jean-Baptiste Audras Reading progressbar before 1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via plugin settings. The plugin saves the Progressbar height and custom target class or ID fields without sanitization, then emits those values into page markup without escaping. Administrator privileges and a later page view are required; the injected script runs in the viewer's browser even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
