Root command execution via exposed UDP IPC daemon
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
OS command injection in Mobvoi Tichome Mini firmware 012-18853 and 027-58389 allows remote attackers to execute shell commands as root. The ipc daemon exposes UDP port 35670 on all interfaces and passes an attacker-controlled path from a type 0x13 datagram into system() within a cp command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. An attacker must reach the speaker on the same IP subnet; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants root control of the device.
