Local solver crash via oversized DIMACS variable index
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in MiniSat 2.0 through 2.2.0 allows local users to crash the solver via a crafted DIMACS file. The DIMACS parser accepts 2147483648 as a signed variable index; the wrapped negative value reaches Solver::value, which indexes the assigns vector before its heap buffer. Exploitation requires local execution of the CLI with attacker-controlled input and interrupts only that solver process.
