Unauthenticated file read via path traversal
Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026
Path traversal in OpenBMB XAgent 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read files outside the workspace through its web API. The file() handler in XAgentServer/application/routers/workspace.py concatenates the user-controlled filename parameter into a filesystem path without validating path containment. An unauthenticated network request can disclose sensitive host files; the published record reports no ability to modify files or interrupt service.
