Cross-context command authorization via DM trust reuse
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Incorrect authorization in OpenClaw before 2026.2.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute group commands through iMessage. The iMessage monitor builds effectiveGroupAllowFrom by merging groupAllowFrom with DM pairing-store identities, treating DM-paired senders as group-authorized. Exploitation requires groupPolicy=allowlist, a DM-approved identity absent from the group allowlist, and access to the target group; accepted messages can invoke OpenClaw control commands.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
