Path traversal in VideoLAN VLC for Android before 3.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to read files via the GET /download endpoint. The route concatenates the file query parameter with the configured download directory without canonicalization or a containment check. Exploitation requires Remote Access Server credentials and network reachability; Android sandbox and storage controls bound exposure to files available to the application.
