CVE-2026-26189Network attack vector

Runner command execution via unescaped environment export

Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026

Command injection in Aqua Security Trivy Action 0.31.0 through 0.33.1 allows attackers to execute runner commands via crafted inputs. The set_env_var_if_provided function writes input values into trivy_envs.txt without shell escaping, and entrypoint.sh later sources the file. Exploitation requires a consuming workflow to place attacker-controlled data in an exported input; commands run with the workflow job's permissions.
