Code execution via skipped dynamic-expression checks
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Improper input validation in Microsoft PowerShell 7.4 and 7.5 allows local users to execute code through a crafted data file. The Import-PowerShellDataFile path bypasses dynamic-expression security checks when -SkipLimitCheck processes attacker-controlled content. Exploitation requires that content to be imported with -SkipLimitCheck; without the switch, the code-execution path is not exposed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
