CVE-2026-25889Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated account takeover via case-sensitive password-field validation

Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026

Authentication bypass in File Browser before 2.57.1 allows remote authenticated users to change an account password without verification. The userPutHandler compares requested fields with a case-sensitive lowercase map, then accepts the Title Case Password field during update processing. A valid JWT and default JSON authentication are required; the bypass converts a stolen session into persistent control of that account and can lock out its holder.
