CVE-2026-25815Known exploitation

LDAP credential disclosure via shared default key

Published Feb 5, 2026 · Updated Feb 5, 2026

Use of a default cryptographic key in Fortinet FortiOS through 7.6.6 allows attackers to decrypt LDAP credentials in configuration files. The private-data storage path encrypts reversible LDAP bind passwords with a predefined key that is static across installations when private-data-encryption is disabled. Exploitation requires a configuration dump or backup; the recovered data includes LDAP bind credentials but not local user passwords.
