Unauthenticated private-post disclosure via unfiltered outbox
Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026
Missing authorization in Fedify Hollo 0.6.19 and earlier and 0.7.0 through 0.7.1 allows remote attackers to read private posts. The ActivityPub outbox dispatcher in src/federation/actor.ts queried every post without filtering its visibility, so direct and followers-only posts entered unauthenticated outbox responses. No account or user interaction is required; the consequence is limited to disclosure of posts already stored with direct or followers-only visibility.
