CVE-2026-25770Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root command execution via unrestricted cluster file write

Published Mar 17, 2026 · Updated Mar 17, 2026

Privilege escalation in Wazuh Manager 3.9.0 through 4.14.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The Handler.receive_file method concatenates a peer-supplied path with WAZUH_PATH and opens it for writing without restricting the destination. Access to the cluster key and port permits ossec.conf replacement, after which wazuh-logcollector executes an injected localfile command on reload.
