CVE-2026-25763Network attack vector

Authenticated RCE via injected Git log option

Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026

Command-line option injection in OpenProject before 16.6.7 and 17.0.0 through 17.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The repository changes endpoint passes an attacker-controlled rev value to git log without an end-of-options delimiter, so Git treats values such as --output as options and writes log output to a chosen path. Project membership with browse_repository permission is sufficient; writable content is limited to crafted git log output, which can form executable scripts under the OpenProject process account.
