CVE-2026-25713Public exploit

Code execution via unchecked ID3v2 unsynchronization copy

Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in MediaArea MediaInfoLib 26.01 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted ID3v2-tagged media file. The File_Id3v2::Data_Parse routine allocates Buffer_Unsynch from an attacker-controlled data length, then memcpy copies an independently controlled size without checking the destination bounds. A user or consuming application must parse the malicious file; the overwrite can corrupt heap pointers and execute attacker-controlled code.
