Service interruption via misplaced IPv6 literal parsing
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Improper URL validation in Go net/url before 1.25.8 and 1.26.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt services via crafted URLs. url.Parse and related entry points treat bytes before a bracketed IP literal as ignorable instead of rejecting a host whose IPv6 literal does not begin the host subcomponent. Exposure requires an application to parse attacker-controlled URLs and rely on successful parsing; the downstream availability effect varies by context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
