Administrator code execution via DLL search hijacking
Published Feb 12, 2026 · Updated Feb 12, 2026
Uncontrolled DLL search paths in the M-Audio M-Track Duo HD 1.0.0 installer allow local users to execute code as Administrator. When launched, the installer searches its own directory for a specific DLL and loads a colocated attacker-controlled copy instead of resolving a trusted path. Exploitation requires a crafted DLL beside the installer and active execution with elevation, after which the DLL runs with administrator privileges.
