Authenticated command execution via unsanitized stream configuration

Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026

OS command injection in Frigate before 0.16.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted video stream configuration. The configuration editor passes attacker-controlled go2rtc stream values using the exec: directive to go2rtc, which launches the specified binary without sanitization. Administrative access and an active malicious stream followed by a service restart are required; privileged containers expose host devices and files.
