Unauthenticated command execution via dynamic type imports
Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in Water-Futures EPyT-Flow before 0.16.1 allows remote attackers to execute OS commands through crafted JSON. The my_load_from_json object hook trusts the type pair, dynamically imports the named module and callable, and invokes it with attacker-controlled keyword arguments. No authentication or user interaction is required when the REST API is exposed; loading an attacker-supplied JSON file reaches the same primitive.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
