CVE-2026-25607

Password recovery via weak encoding analysis

Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026

Weak password encoding in STER before 9.5 allows local users to recover passwords by analyzing encodings of known values. CERT Polska identifies the password-encoding algorithm as weak but does not disclose the algorithm, storage locus, or code path that performs the encoding. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and high complexity; the bounded impact is password disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
