Authenticated command execution via unescaped video filename
Published Feb 16, 2026 · Updated Feb 16, 2026
OS command injection in KodCloud KodBox 1.64.05 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through video transcoding. VideoResize::run concatenates the attacker-controlled localFile path into a quoted ffmpeg command string and passes it to proc_open, allowing Linux shell expansion in a crafted filename. Exploitation requires an enabled Media File Preview plugin, ffmpeg, permission to upload a suitably sized video, and a request that triggers transcoding; commands run with the web server process's privileges.
