Local command execution via unquoted socket values
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Command injection in Siemens SICAM SIAPP SDK before 2.1.7 allows local users to execute commands through caller-controlled socket values. The edgedata_ipc_unix_server_listen() helper interpolates user and UNIX-socket path strings into chown and chmod command lines passed to system(). Exploitation requires a downstream application to pass untrusted user or channel_name data into the API; successful injection executes with the application's privileges and can compromise its host environment.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
