Cloud metadata disclosure via alternative IP notation
Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026
SSRF in Craft CMS allows remote attackers to read cloud metadata through a crafted remote URL in a saveAsset GraphQL mutation. The mutation passes the hostname to filter_var with FILTER_VALIDATE_IP, which misses hexadecimal and mixed IP forms that Guzzle still resolves to blocked addresses. An exposed GraphQL schema permitting asset saves is required, and the demonstrated consequence is retrieval and storage of instance metadata.
