Database modification via unbound role filters
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
SQL injection in user::maintains() in PEAR pearweb before 1.33.0 allows remote attackers to modify database data via crafted roles. The method joins array elements with implode() directly into a role IN (...) clause instead of binding each role as a query parameter. Exploitation requires an application path that lets an unauthenticated remote attacker influence a role string; the bounded impact is unauthorized database modification.
