Login CSRF via missing OAuth state validation
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Login CSRF in PolarLearn 0-PRERELEASE-15 and earlier allows remote attackers to bind victims to attacker accounts through OAuth callbacks. The GitHub and Google authorization URL builders omit a random state value, and their callback routes exchange a supplied code and create a session without verifying that the same browser initiated the flow. A victim must visit the attacker's unconsumed callback URL; subsequent entries and academic progress are saved to the attacker's account, exposing that data and depriving the victim of it.
