Stored browser script execution via unsanitized playerID
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Stored XSS in Talishar's in-game chat allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in browsers viewing the current game page. SubmitChat.php reads the playerID query parameter as an unrestricted string, inserts it directly into a span element, and stores the chat entry without sanitization. No authentication is required; a crafted value can escape the span context and alter the displayed player identity or run script for later game-page viewers.
