CVE-2026-25139Network attack vector

Memory disclosure or crash via short SFR fragments

Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026

Out-of-bounds reads in RIOT 2025.10 and earlier allow remote attackers to disclose adjacent memory or crash devices via 6LoWPAN packets. The _handle_1st_rfrag function casts packet data to sixlowpan_sfr_rfrag_t and dereferences fields without first checking the payload length. Exposure requires the 6LoWPAN stack and the ability to send or manipulate input packets; disclosure is limited to adjacent memory, while strict architectures can crash.
