Session-token theft via unencoded error-message HTML
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Reflected XSS in affected Rucio WebUI releases allows remote attackers to steal session tokens through crafted error-triggering URLs. The server places user-controlled values in ExceptionMessage, and client scripts pass that text to jQuery.html(...) instead of encoding it or inserting it as text. An authenticated WebUI user must follow the crafted link; injected JavaScript then runs in the WebUI origin and can read the non-HttpOnly session token.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
