Contact data disclosure via unscoped Location export
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Information disclosure in OpenEMR before 8.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to export all patient and user contact data. The FhirLocationService export path failed to constrain Location queries to the selected group's patient UUIDs, causing unrelated records to be appended. Exploitation requires an administrator-enabled confidential client with secure key exchange, an export-operation scope, and system/Location.read capability; it exposes contact data without modifying records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
