Authentication bypass in Gogs before 0.14.3 allows remote attackers to impersonate users through a forged reverse-proxy header. The authenticatedUser function reads the configured HTTP header from every request and treats its value as an authenticated username without checking the immediate peer. Exploitation requires ENABLE_REVERSE_PROXY_AUTHENTICATION and direct network reachability; auto-registration also lets a forged unknown username create an activated account.
