Unauthenticated code execution via unsanitized URN path
Published Jan 29, 2026 · Updated Jan 29, 2026
Path traversal in Runtipi 4.5.0 through 4.7.1 allows remote attackers to overwrite the main Docker Compose file without authentication. The updateUserConfig endpoint lacks AuthGuard, while extractAppUrn passes traversal segments from the urn parameter into AppFilesManager path.join resolution. Execution requires an operator to restart the instance outside the CLI, after which the injected Compose service runs attacker-controlled code with host filesystem access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
