Telemetry disruption via unlimited WebSocket authentication attempts
Published Feb 26, 2026 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Improper authentication-attempt restriction in SWTCH Energy swtchenergy.com allows remote attackers to disrupt charger telemetry. The WebSocket API accepts repeated authentication requests without enforcing a request limit, enabling brute-force attempts and traffic exhaustion. No prior access or user interaction is required; abusive connection attempts can suppress or misroute legitimate charger telemetry or expose accounts through password guessing.
