Authenticated code execution via unrestricted API upload
Published Mar 27, 2026 · Updated Mar 27, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Bludit before 3.18.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the API plugin. The uploadFile function in bl-plugins/api/plugin.php moved the supplied filename into a web-accessible upload path without validating its extension, allowing server-executable files to be stored. Exploitation requires an enabled API plugin, a valid API token, and write permission; successful requests execute attacker-supplied code under the web server account.
