Application crash via dangling pre-buffer metadata pointer

Use-after-free in Apache Arrow C++ 15.0.0 through 23.0.0 allows attackers to crash an application via a crafted IPC file. With pre-buffering enabled, the IPC file reader mishandles variadic-buffer metadata during multithreaded I/O and writes a shared Buffer pointer through a dangling pointer. Pre-buffering is disabled by default, the affected API is unavailable through language bindings, and the most likely consequence is a service-interrupting crash or memory corruption when untrusted IPC files are ingested.
