Authenticated host code execution via unsanitized template filenames
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Command injection in Apache CloudStack allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code on KVM hosts through direct-download templates. The direct-download path uses an account-supplied template filename without sanitization before incorporating it into host-side command processing. Default permissions let account users register such templates, exposing KVM-host confidentiality and integrity and allowing data loss or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.11.0 <=4.20.2.0
- Affected versionversion=4.21.0.0 <=4.22.0.0
