Storage traffic interception via disabled certificate verification
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Improper certificate validation in OpenList before 4.1.10 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read and alter storage traffic. DefaultConfig in internal/conf/config.go sets TlsInsecureSkipVerify to true, causing storage driver TLS clients to accept attacker-controlled certificates. Exploitation requires control of name resolution or a network path; intercepted requests can disclose authentication cookies and permit storage-operation tampering.
