Authenticated stored XSS via unescaped shortcode class
Published Apr 18, 2026 · Updated Apr 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Zahlan Categories Images 3.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via a shortcode class. The z_taxonomy_image shortcode sends its attacker-controlled class attribute to a fallback image builder that concatenates it into HTML without escaping. Contributor access is sufficient, and the stored script runs in a visitor's browser when the injected front-end page is opened or used.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
