Creator-to-Admin escalation via unchecked user invitation
Published Jan 29, 2026 · Updated Jan 29, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Budibase 3.26.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with Creator access to gain Admin privileges. The POST /api/global/users/multi/invite endpoint accepts a Creator session and client-supplied admin, builder, and group assignments without checking permission to create users or assign roles. Creator access and a valid session are required; a successful request creates a privileged account that can modify workspace data and administrators.
