Unauthenticated settings changes via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Missing authorization in Atarim 4.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings through its WordPress AJAX handler. The avc_save_avc_settings function registers an unauthenticated action and writes allowed settings after nonce validation without checking login state or administrative capability. Exploitation requires an active plugin and a frontend-exposed nonce; successful requests can alter role-access and developer settings.
