Contributor-level popup publication via unchecked REST update
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Missing authorization in Nelio Software Nelio Popups 1.3.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to publish or enable popups. The nelio_popups_is_enabled REST field update callback writes popup metadata without checking publish capability or post status, while save handling promotes draft popups to published status. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized popup publication or activation rather than administrator access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
