Unauthorized plagiarism checks via missing AJAX nonce
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Copyscape Premium WordPress Plugin 1.4.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to trigger checks on arbitrary posts. The ajax_copyscape_post handler accepts a post identifier through admin-ajax.php without validating the request's CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator who can edit the targeted post to visit attacker-controlled content; the forced check can consume Copyscape API resources.
